My parents of immigrant backgrounds wanted me to start learning at a young age, however stubborn me would relentlessly not want to learn, but rather play roblox all day.
Origin
Being at my parents office, I would be on my moms Dell laptop at the time, and mostly play roblox. From my perspective, I'd rather be home instead, but since I was 7 at the time, it's reasonable that I had to accomapny them. They probably had an idea that what if instead of playing the games, I can learn how to code them and make something off of it. I mean that is my interpretation of what looking back is, but also that how that could become a possible career choice since coding was about to become mainstream. They bought me the book as seen in the image above, and they told me to learn the contents within it. Stubborn me, would refuse to do so and just keep playing games, you know, as a typical 7 year old acts.
Learning to code
The only way my parents can get right through me is shouting for me to learn the freaking book, honestly, I would do that today if i were in their shoes. So now I'm opening the book and seeing through the contents, naturally I complain to them that this doesn't look easy. However, they told me to just learn from the beginning. So I did. I followed the instructions in the book and typed in what would be the most infamous and important line of code that I think that everyone has written.

I saw that it said "Hello, world!" back at me, so I edited the message. I was super enthusiastic, so I showed my parents and I don't quite remember their reactions. We can just say that they were probably so happy, like most parents would be. So I look inside the book more in depth, and find a few more pieces to add to the code. Then, it got a bit more complicated for my 7 year old brain to work, so I just hopped back onto roblox, and continued gming like usual.
What I am taking from it
Even though I didn't go quite far from the book, before its abandonment, I never let my creative mind go. To this day, I'm always thinking of new ideas, polishing, reinventing and so much more. It can be seen in what I do mostly, especially with what I like to do. Most importantly, it's shown in my hobbies. Thousands of hours spent inside sandbox games, simulation games, and many more. I really like creating, well as you can see, you're reading this article on my website, which I wrote. At this time of recording on July 19th, 2026 at 2:09PM, the final for the world cup is going to happen within the end of the hour.
